SoH affecting ranged attacks
Regardless of Strength of Honor's state right now, I've always wanted it to effect all physical instead of melee damage (to include bows and spears into the equation). Especially now, SoH has made melee reign, and ranged offense left in the dust
Even if they reverted it to it's old damage, and made it all physical attacks
What do you think?

fully supported, this would add quite a bit of draw to rangers but as is they are kind of the weekest class pve wise so I think some help would be welcome.

The thing is, ranged damage is not honourable, so Strength of Honour would not apply imo.
How honourable is it to really sit in the midline, pull out a bow and hit things from out of aggro range? :P

Ranger is my main, but I don't think you need this. Toss in skills like Triple Shot, Glass Arrows, Conjure Flame/Frost/Lightning, and then have a Mo/Rt or Rt/Mo use SoH and a weapon spell on you and you would kill stuff so fast PvE would roll over and die.
And I'm not sure why you say Ranger is weak in PvE, I've never seen it as such.

agree also monk shouldn't be able to heal those with soh on them while fighting monsters without monk in their group cause you know...its not honorable.

compared to how OP every other class is in general pve I think ranger has ended up being slightly worse than the other classes. They aren't weak but they are the weakest if that makes sense.

meh, SoH shouldn't effect ranged attacks, that's just silly. Plus, then SoH would no longer stack with AoHM :P

Off-topic: Ranger is the only class that can use a bow effectively outside of the rare A/R Critical Barrage or even rarer Rt/R Splinter Barrage. However, you may have noticed people using Scythes on a Warrior, Assassin, and Ranger more than on a Dervish for PvE. Same for Spear, as Warrior, Ranger, and occassionally Assassin will use a Spear better than a Paragon. UNtil this past update, Ritualists were replaced by N/Rt's. Learn how to play a PvE Ranger and you won't think they are weak, nor weaker than other classes. And damage is not the only thing needed in PvE, but Ranger can put out serious damage if that is what you want to do.
On Topic: If SoH was changed to allow it to work with ranged attacks, this would not only open up Bows and Spears, but wands as well, unless the damage was required to be physical. That, however, would prevent Conjure stacking, but not Order stacking. If they made it work with ranged PHYSICAL attacks, I'd hope they added a clause like Brutal Weapon has where you can't be enchanted at all.

Considering it -is- an enchantment, that seems pretty silly.
Still, the way I worded it, I wouldn't want for it to be usable by wands, because I think that's a bit too silly.
Other people use Spears better, but a paragons' main focus is rarely ever his spear, it's party support. Warriors/Assassins/Paragons/Rangers using scythes better then dervishes is a problem because Dervish's main focus is his scythe. for other people to use it better is bad.

If SoH was made to affect all physical damage, you couldn't use conjures and SoH at the same time.
And, while rangers are not weak, they are often neglected in high-end PvE. If they received a few buffs, they could prove to be more viable options.

Being that warriors can use Soh with Conjures and Hundred Blades now in PvE and do more big damage, might as well give it rangers/paragons to compete.

You mean something like this?
Strength of Honor: functionality changed to "While you maintain this enchantment, target ally deals 5...21 more damage with physical damage while not under the effect of another enchantment."

That would make it pretty useless compared to Orders, because then they couldn't stack.
More like "While you Maintain this enchantment, Target Ally deals 5...21 more damage with physical damage. No effect if target health is below 50%"
While the clause is not that bad, it stays true to it's inscription counterpart, which keeps the skill making sense. The clause, like "Strength and Honor", would allow the skill to be regarded as 'good', even though the downside is still there (since most PvErs don't plan on letting their health get that low.)
So basically, if their health drops below 50%, it would not end, but would still have no effect, essentially making it a worthless maintained enchantment while the person is below 50% health, adding a bit of a downside.

QFT. If you could mantain it on a Paragon within a BSoH it would be overpowered .... not counting with Splinter Weap or Conjuring lol . Im also thinking about the Rangers .... who ever said the Ranger is weak at pve is bloody clueless about that prof .
